    Sonia Aguilar scored 18 points and Dominique Williams-McNac added 11 as the Laney College women's basketball team moved a step closer to winning the Bay Valley Conference championship with a 64-48 victory over Solano College on Feb. 1 at Laney.

      The Eagles (19-6, 8-1 BVC) have three games left in the regular season, including home games against Contra Costa on Friday, Feb. 3, and Mendocino College on Feb. 10.

    The Laney College women's water polo season came to an end at the Coast Conference Championships held at De Anza College in Cupertino on Nov. 4-5. The Eagles finished the season with a 2-10 won-loss record and, despite a last-place finish in the championships, they played competitively and with heart.
