A rundown of sports awards for this semester's athletes

No. 13 Laney baseball team opens NorCals at Fresno City

The Laney College baseball team has qualified for the Northern California Regional tournament for the second year in a row.

The Laney College Women’s Swim Team head coach Sarah Stretch has two goals for this season: “have a swimmer qualify for the state competition and finish among the top three teams in the Bay Valley Conference (BVC).”

With the 2013 track and field season getting under way, the reigning 2012 State Champions, Laney Eagles women’s track team, coached by Curtis Taylor, are back on the track pushing to repeat as champions again this season.

The Laney College women’s basketball team’s 2012-13 season came to an abrupt end on Feb. 27, when the Eagles lost 69-66 at the hands of San Jose City in a play-in game of the Northern California Community College Athletic Association State Championships.
