Peralta Community College District students may be able to save $230 per semester on bus fare thanks to the AC Transit EasyPass Program, a pilot program that is starting this fall.
Full-time students are eligible to receive an AC Transit bus pass for $50 per semester.

The workshop is an opportunity to have an appointment on campus to focus on creative writing, develop a supportive writing community, and take some new writing risks.

Special Election for president of the Associated Students of Laney College (ASLC) is taking place on Oct. 28-29 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the second floor of the Student Center. The application-filing period ends Sept. 16.
To be eligible for the election, a student must be enrolled at Laney College in a minimum of five semester units at the time of the election as well as meet and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.
Parking tickets also doubled to $40 for vehicles without placard or daily slip

Parking fees for Peralta college parking lots have gone up again. The board of Trustees approved the price increase April 22 this year.
This time, rather than the $20 a semester for Fall and Spring semesters, it is now $40 a semester. The ticket machines for single day parking are now charging one dollar compared to the $.

Four years ago there was a major shift on the Peralta Colleges Board of Trustees. With no incumbents seeking re-election for four of the board's seven seats, new candidates ran on reform platforms for the purpose of creating a "new majority."
Four years later, with the new majority established, and it appears that the either the new leadership is heralded by the community or that the status quo will continue.
