Laney College freshman Charonda Williams became the school's first double state track champion when she won the 100- and 200-meter dashes at the 56th Annual Community College Track and Field Championships on Saturday night at Bakersfield College.
Williams (Kennedy-Richmond/Gompers HS), the first women's track champion at Laney, won the 100 in 11.75 seconds and the 200 in 23.94.
The Eagles finished seventh in the women's competition with 33 points.
