If you're still unclear about what's going on with the budget cuts to education, or about how to get involved, then the teach-in at Berkeley City College on Nov. 7 would be a great source of information. A teach-in is basically an organized gathering for people to discuss an important issue, and an opportunity to educate others about that issue and ways of addressing it.

I have never in my life been a marijuana smoker, but over the last few weeks I've engaged in a few smoke sessions with friends. Every time someone asked me "what are you doing smoking!?" I'd give the excuse that it calms my bad nerves.
Just a few days ago that's all it did until it took me on a trip I didn't bargain for.

Seniors and disabled take bus, too
Editor--I am urging the Alameda-Contra Costa Transportation District to demand more funding from the politicians in Washington D.C., so that they can lower the price of the bus pass for both the seniors and disabled. Both the seniors and disabled can't afford to pay $20 a month for a pass.
