The Laney College women's track team has won the Coast Conference championship and the Northern California championship in the last couple of weeks, exceeding in each meet coach Curtis Taylor's predictions of how many points the team would score.
Now come the big test -the California Community College Athletic Association Track and Field Championships.

The 2009 Spring Sports Awards Banquet was held on May 6 at an Alameda restaurant that had a Laney College connection.
The banquet, which honored the Laney College athletes who participated in the spring sports--baseball, basketball, track and swimming/diving--was held at the Otaez Restaurant that is owned by former Laney football player Rolando Campos.
