Cherrie Williams has found a way to help combat the crime wave sweeping over Oakland's streets. She fights crime by making dolls. Williams, known as the "Doll Lady" to some and the "Singing Domestic" to others, is an Oakland artist and performer who makes and sells colorful multicultural dolls out of "found" objects and trash from Oakland's streets.

A student refused to move out of the way of a professor attempting to exit a bathroom stall at the College of Alameda Feb. 21. When college safety aides, the student further refused to cooperate and began yelling profanities. According to Peralta Police, the student was removed from campus for the Spring semester until they meet with COA administration.
