"We did the show as a way to showcase student work, and for students to showcase themselves to their friends and family.

It's a great boost for their self-pride and self-esteem also, doing shows like that drives up camaraderie between students When students participate in something together like a show, and have fun while doing it, it makes them closer . . . feel good about themselves and each other.

Our theme this year was "Decades of Beauty" to highlight styles of 6 decades--'50s to the present! All students who wanted to participate did. Students (from freshmen to seniors, both day and evening classes) presented styles on their mannequins displayed in the theatre lobby and/or did anywhere from 1-6 models for the actual show.

Also, we wanted to pull together talents of other Laney departments to participate as well. The Laney Tower, Photo department set up a professional booth to photograph models, 9th floor radio DJ "Synapz" dj'd the show, and we used the Theatre and staff therefrom.

I think it was a great success!"
